   About Mike

My wife, Theresa, and I have been Village residents for 14 years. We have two children in the school system. Our son, Anthony, is currently in third grade at Todd School and our daughter, Allison, is a kindergartener.

We came to Briarcliff 14 years ago specifically for the school district. At the time we did not have children, nor did we plan children. Our decision was based solely on what such a fine, well-regarded school district did – and would continue to do – for property values.

As parents, homeowners and taxpayers, here is what we stand for:

•  We support Briarcliff’s deep seated community value of continued academic excellence.

•  We understand that continued academic excellence benefits two precious things – our children and our property values.

•  An equilibrium must be found and maintained that balances the quality and the cost of the education we deliver in Briarcliff.

I am a business owner. My global web commerce business is based in nearby Valhalla. As a business owner I am adept at many things. My areas of expertise include management, marketing, human resources, information technology, operations, public relations, budgeting, finance, P&L responsibility, legal and more. Essentially being the entire C-Suite in one individual: The CEO, The CFO, The COO, The CTO, General Council, etc.. Additionally, I am Director of Branch Development for TFS securities. This broad, deep, diverse skill set will serve the community well in my approach to my position, should I be elected to the Board of Education.

Prior to my entrepreneurial pursuits, I spent over two decades in the asset management business. In this capacity, I ran large business segments for several globally known and highly respected asset management companies. Asset management products I was responsible for included mutual funds, separately managed and institutional asset management accounts, variable annuities and ETFs. Similar to my current situation, I ran businesses and held broad based responsibilities in running those business units.

I was educated at Rutgers University and hold a degree in Economics.

In 2010 I was a member of The Green Team. A team comprised of administrators, faculty and parents in the District whose mission it was to promote sustainability initiatives throughout the schools and in the classrooms. I spoke at Todd School on Earth Day regarding sustainability as well as to the eight grade on global eCommerce related to green businesses.

Additionally, I have coached soccer and little league and am an active committee level leader with local scouting. Theresa has been teaching CCD at St. Theresa’s for a number of years, currently teaching third grade and previously having taught both fourth and second grades. Theresa is also the committee chair for local scouting as well as a den leader.
